 Six people were injured and several buildings evacuated after a fire caused a huge plume of smoke to billow into the sky above south London.

Around 100 firemen struggled the blast at some railroad curves close to Elephant and Castle station. 


Fire groups were called quickly before 13:45 BST and nearby occupants announced hearing various blasts. 


London Fire Brigade (LFB) said three business units were land alongside six vehicles and a pay phone.

Organization Rail said no trains are going to or through the rail station in southeast London for the remainder of the day after a blast broke out on Monday evening. 


A London Fire Brigade official said there was "a critical fire in a vehicle carport in the railroad curves" which included a few close by vehicles outside and a pay phone. 


The fire was managed almost four hours after it began, they added. 


Six individuals have been treated by the London Ambulance Servic, with one taken to emergency clinic.

 


London Fire Brigade said the reason for the blast was not yet known, anyway the Metropolitan Police said it was not accepted to be fear related. 


Fifteen fire motors and around 100 firemen are at the scene after the unit got 44 calls to its 999 administrators at 1.43pm on Monday. 


Recordings via web-based media show enormous tufts of smoke ascending into the sky, with individuals seen running for cover in one clasp as a fireball ejects into the air.
